RasPlex, a Plex-based Linux OS distribution optimized for Raspberry Pi’s ARM CPU, is a forked version of XBMC. However, third-party developers can also host their own unofficial repositories where add-ons can be added by any user. These can all be installed from one official repository. Kodi offers a growing number of community-driven add-ons. Imagine a smartphone with all the apps that can be added to it. This is used for Kodi skin development and trading. You can also create your own skin and share it with others through public websites. It uses the DXVA 2.0 API which is not supported by Windows XP. However, this enhancement is only available for Windows 7 or later. DirectX Video Acceleration supports hardware video decoding. It comes pre-installed and can be used directly from the main menu with XBMC Media Center and Boxee. Myka ION, an Nvidia Ion-based set-top device, is fanless and designed to bring Internet TV and media from your home network to your living room. Neuros LINK by Neuros Technology, an Ubuntu-based set-top device, and media extender that brings internet TV and another video to your television, is pre-installed and includes XBMC Media Center. This makes theme-skinning and personal customization easy. Skin files are written in XAML using a standard XML basis. This makes it possible to create unique skins for XBMC. Its underlying complex graphical layout and design library (named libGUI/Kodi/XBMC) provides a layer of abstraction between the application code, the interface, and allows for extremely flexible dynamic layouts. Kodi/XBMC has a flexible GUI toolkit that is a robust framework for its GUI.
